The main focus for my research is cellular modelling of river processes and landscape evolution. I have written two computer models (CAESAR and TRACER) that have been used to examine the effects of environmental change on river evolution and to study the movement of contaminated river sediments.

I am also involved in research projects looking at the the impacts of vegetation on braided and ephemeral/arid rivers. As well as the physical modelling of vegetation and braided river dynamics. This includes using the Total Environment Simulator flume at the Deep, Hull (left).
