Hi Tom Thanks for all your answers. I have now a question which can seem stupid. After running the programm with a lateral erosion rate of 10, I've obtained an elevdiff output file reveling a strong erosion in the bed and a high deposition on the riverbank. I'd have predicted the opposite. So, do the negative values in the elevdiff output file mean deposition? I sent a mail to you with a printscreen of this file. Hourly water discharges were : 4.4 ; 5.2 ; 8.5 ; 15.7 ; 27.3 ; 41.9 ; 36.0 ; 21.6 ; 18.2 ; 15.4 ; 13.1 ; 6.8 ; 4.4 [m3/s] Thanks Raphaël |

Hi Raphael, Your values show the opposite? Negative values (red) where the channel has been filled in, and green values on the bank (positive values) where there has been erosion? The +ve or -ve values are calculated by start DEM minus end DEM... One thing to check - are you calculating shear stress (in the numerical tab) using velocity or bedlsope? (use velocity) Tom |
